  The service we received was way under par. When the waitress was there attending it was okay, but the staff seemed to be way too thin and we didn't have someone check on us for 15 minutes after I had asked for sauce, a simple request. By the time she came back, she didn't have any sauce and we had to ask for a refill. This is a chance to better your business. Let my review help you understand the necessity of good service. I've worked in multiple restaurants in multiple states so I know good service. Your service, no matter how good the food will either make or break your business.

  The Black Bear restaurant has good food at decent prices and friendly servers , however it is very unorganized. There was a large crowd waiting to be seated, which is expected on a busy Friday night, but there were always several empty booths and no one was being seated. Some of the customers appeared to have been waiting for up to at least a half hour to being seated. If customers are at least seated and served drinks, most won't mind waiting a bit to be waited on. It appeared that the waitresses were both waiting tables and also tasked with cleaning up the tables after customers left, thus taking away time the customers service. We feel that there needs to be one person responsible for cleaning and restocking tables ( a busboy) the servers could be much more efficient. Customers get upset when their waiting for long periods of time to be seated and seeing empty tables.
  Where we were seated, we could see food coming out of the kitchen and some of it set on the shelf for ten minutes or so before being picked up for delivery to the tables. We have eaten at several Black Bear restaurants in other city's (Boise and Bend Oregon) and they seemed much more organized.
  Also after our meal, it took at least five minutes waiting in line to pay the bill. A lot of people waiting to be served were in the pay area and there was only one cashier taking payments although there appeared to be two cash registers. Management needs to take a lesson from Perkins or Texas Roadhouse on how to efficiently clean tables and get customers seated and served.
  I sincerely hope the Black Bear is successful, they do have good food and large portions, but if they don't get better organized, they may be in jeopardy.
